Main Goal of the Strategic Directions:
To promote Recovery oriented practice through adherence to the values and principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Goal #1:
To influence public policy as it relates to the advancement of services which support the recovery of individuals with serious mental health issues.
Objectives:
1. To gain an increased knowledge and understanding of current Mental Health Policies in Nova Scotia
2. To develop position papers to respond to public policies
Goal #2:
To promote and support education/ training opportunities to individuals and organizations for the advancement of recovery- oriented practices.
Objectives:
1. To develop education strategies that would include but is not limited to bi-annual conference and workshops
2. To provide opportunities and support to consumers to attend workshops and conferences
Goal #3:
To serve as a vehicle for knowledge dissemination, networking, and communication
Objectives:
1. To maintain ongoing and timely communication with members on Chapter and field related activities and development
2. To develop a mechanism for receiving membership input and feedback
Goal # 4:
To promote Recovery oriented research in Nova Scotia
Objectives:
1. To ensure finding to support recovery-oriented research in Nova Scotia
2. To support one research project every 2 years
Goal # 5:
To maintain core Chapter’s business

2. To maintain financial accountability
3. To develop policies to guide chapter activities
